Brothers & Sisters,
Recently a well-intentioned member attempted to set up a fundraiser via Facebook for the SMC. They located a fundraiser link on Facebook that was labeled for the Sentinel's Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club. However we could not figure out where the money went. We can verify that it did not go to either the Mother Chapter or the National accounts.
We suspect that this link is old and connects to accounts that are no longer controlled by (or known to) anyone in the club. It is also possible that the link was created in the past by a third party impersonating the club in order to defraud donors.
Please do not use Facebook fundraising links unless you can verify where the money is going ahead of time.
If you create a new link, please label where the money goes in the link's title (which chapter).

We have used them before, and received checks to the address listed with the state (my house). Just FYI.

What percentage did Facebook take for their admin fees?
Also, speaking just for myself, I don't have a problem with using Facebook for fundraising donations - but I do have a problem with using old links that we have no idea where the money goes.
Someone (possibly someone not affiliated with the club) recently got a few dollars because we trusted an old link.
